SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Chapter of UNICO and The Italian American Club hosted a Columbus Day celebration at the Alan Augustine Village Green on Saturday.

The event featured a special presentation for Township Manager Al Mirabella, who was honored by the Italian Tribune as the 2016 Christopher Columbus Man of the Year. Mayor Kevin Glover delivered remarks recognizing the significance of Christopher Columbus and presented Mirabella with a proclamation recognizing his achievements.
