SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains Fanwood PAL came away with three victories of out of four games in New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League action on Sunday, Oct. 20.

On a wet and cloudy Sunday in Bloomfield, the A team Raiders beat Bloomfield, 20-7, the C team Raiders knocked off Somerset Hills 19-0, and the the SPF E team beat Bloomfield, 8-6. The B team Raiders fell to Bloomfield, 14-6. The D and third grade Raider squads had bye weeks.

While the tackle teams were on the road, flag football was in full force on the Scotch Plains-Fanwood varsity field.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Police Athletic League (PAL) was founded in 1991 as a volunteer organization. It aims to develop a friendly relationship between youngster and police officers and a spirit of respect for the law. The PAL emphasizes skill development, personal growth, and fun for pre-high school boys and girls from both Scotch Plains and Fanwood. It runs youth football, flag football, girls softball, volleyball and cheerleading programs, and its volunteer coaches and administrators are police officers and other dedicated individuals who care about kids.
