SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- While the SPF PAL A, B, and C Raiders played against Berkeley Heights and the D took on Chatham on Sunday, Sept. 23, flag football ruled the day at the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School varsity field.

SPF PAL flag football is played by players in grades K-8 every Sunday at the high school's lower grass fields and on the varsity football turf field when the PAL contact teams are playing away games. The season runs eight weeks to Oct. 30.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Police Athletic League (PAL) was founded in 1991. SPF PAL aims to develop a friendly relationship between youth and local police officers and a spirit of respect for the law. The organization is committed to emphasizing skill development, personal growth and fun with the goal of providing a fun sports experience for pre-high school boys and girls from Scotch Plains and Fanwood. Activities include football, softball, volleyball, and cheerleading.
