The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal organization. The Msgr. Henry J. Watterson Council was founded in 1912. It is named after the founding Pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield, who was to serve prominently as the Council’s Chaplain at the time that the original Council Hall was built. The Msgr. Henry J. Watterson Council works closely with the Catholic Parishes in Westfield and Mountainside (St. Helen’s, Holy Trinity and Our Lady of Lourdes), raising and providing funds for various charitable projects.
Strong advocates of Pro-Life causes, the Westfield Knights organize a number of events to benefit crisis pregnancy centers throughout the state.
Also, the annual spring fundraiser to benefit the developmentally disabled has made its membership quite recognizable to the community in their yellow and red aprons.
