SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Township of Scotch Plains hosted its annual Hometown Holiday Celebration featuring a horse drawn carriage rides, pony rides, face-painting, a petting zoo, visits with Santa, cookie decorating, face painting, caricatures, and a life-size snow globe bouncy house!

Attendees were able to try carrot and ginger soup from the Stage House, cheese pretzels from Darby Road, cannoli donated by UNICO, the Italian-American service organization, and hot chocolate provided by the Scotch Plains Fire Department.

Santa also came down from the North Pole to visit with children and pose for pictures before the Scotch Plains town tree was lit once the sun began to set. Mayor Al Smith, Santa Claus, and Councilwoman Elizabeth Stamler, with some help from the Scotch Plains fire department, turned on the tree.
