SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Under beautiful skies, the St. Bart's 5K Race brought out runners of all ages who raced through the streets of Scotch Plains and Fanwood in an annual rite of spring.

Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith, Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr, and Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo welcomed the crowd and wished them well. The race is one of four events in Mayor Smith's "Mayor's Wellness Campaign," which also includes the YMCA 5K (May 16), Race to Summer 5K in downtown Scotch Plains (June 27), and Union Catholic 5K Spooktacular (October 27).
