SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- So it wasn't "The Storm of the Century," but that doesn't mean it was not a picturesque day locally.

The Scotch Plains Municipal Building and Fanwood Borough Hall were open by 10:30 a.m., and kids took advantage of the day off from school to have fun in the freshly fallen snow.

"We are just making pizza today, by the time we realized how little snow there was, it was too late to call them all in. We'll be ready, though," said Angelo Zandferdino at Alfonso's Pizzeria on Park Ave. in Scotch Plains.
