SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains and Fanwood Police Departments have partnered with the SPFK12 school district to again host the SP-F PAL Cops and Kids afterschool program at Terrill Middle School on Tuesday afternoon.

In the program, students from 5th to 8th grade engage in a variety of activities, including a version of dodge ball.

"The idea is to get kids off of their video games and participate in some lightly-competitive programs with their friends and the Police Officers who serve our great community," said Scotch Plains Police Chief Ted Conley and Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo, who oversaw the activities.

Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith also attended the opening event.
