SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Cub Scout Pack 34 from Evergreen School reached out and connected with Pack 287 in Beaumont, Texas, which was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Some of the Texas families lost everything in the storm.

Pack 34 took up a collection for camping gear and gift cards to send to Pack 287 in Beaumont so that they can start rebuilding their Scouting program. Additionally, the Cub Scouts purchased six brand new uniforms, including as many patches as possible, and a complete Girl Scout 'Daisy' uniform, for leaders and Scouts in Pack 287.

The Scouts spent their recent meeting learning about what happens in a Hurricane and how water and flooding can be so destructive.
