SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School athletic director Ryan Miller has been awarded the Sectional Award of Merit by the Directors of Athletics Association of New Jersey (DAANJ) for his accomplishments and contributions to the school's athletic programs.
Honorees are nominated for the Sectional Award of Merit by their peers for their leadership in school, conference, county section (North II) and state. Items in consideration for the award are performance of the school's program and the athletic director's work on various committees.
Specifically, Miller was honored for serving on numerous New Jersey State Interscholastic Association (NJSIAA) committees, presenting for three consecutive years at the state conference, and for being published as the co-author of a Student Athlete Leadership Team article in the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association magazine this spring.
The SPFK12 Board of Education honored Miller with a proclamation at its meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
