SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Five Girl Scouts from Scotch Plains-Fanwood  Troops 40274 and 40352 received their Gold Award, the highest honor in the Girl Scouts organization, while a dozen others received their Silver Awards at a ceremony at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Wednesday, June 5. 

The Gold Award went to: Katherine Agnello and Audrey Davis of Troop 40274 and Rachella Carlino, Anita Dazzo, and Isabella Verga of Troop 40352.

The Silver Award was earned by: Sofia Chiullo, Ivana Fontana, Amanda Hill, Dylan Klein, Olivia Linderman, and Victoria Solsky of Troop 40337 and Alexa Fazzio, Katelyn Gaulin, Natalie Green, Maeve Kahora, Alyssa Warbeck, and Catie Wilson of Troop 40965.

Courtney Agnello served as emcee, and Father Michael Ward gave the invocation. Congratulatory remarks were made by Dianna Beck Clemens, Board Chair, Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey; Julie Murphy of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Rotary Club; and U.S. Senator Cory Booker (via video). Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith was also in attendance. 

The Gold Award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, recognizing girls who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through remarkable Take Action projects that have sustainable impact in their communities-and beyond.
