Branchburg, NJ – Two local girls Adelina Berisha  (OH/MH) and Kaelie Chung (Libero/DS) have qualified for the 2017 USA Junior National Volleyball Championship to be held in Minneapolis this June. The 8th grade Park Middle School girls started playing on the PAL Middle School team headed by Coach Jenny Chan three years ago and both girls play for Team VBRags National in the age 14 division of Fairfield NJ.

New Jersey is part of the Garden Empire Region (GEVA), which encompasses New York, Long Island, and parts of Connecticut.  In the age 14 group of the GEVA region, there are at least 113 teams, all vying for one of two bids that would qualify their team to the National Tournament. The playoffs were held at the Branchburg Sports Complex on May 6th, though they fought hard and came in second to a NYC team, ours girls can say that they are the No. 1 team in NJ, by defeating the CJVA 14 Flemington team twice and earning the second bid to the nationals.

Adelina is an Outside/Middle Hitter, while Kaelie compliments her with her defense as the Libero or Defense Specialist. As soon as the eighth graders graduate from middle school they are off to Minneapolis from June 24-28.

Good luck to them on their journey to the Junior Nationals.
