Scotch Plains-Fanwood Girls Top Northern Highlands 106-63, Advance to Public B Swim Finals

PERTH AMBOY, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood girls swim team defeated Northern Highlands in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA Group Tournament (Public B) at the Raritan Bay YMCA and will now go to the state finals. Both the SPFHS boys and girls have now advanced to the state finals.  The girls will swim for their first state title since 2006 at The College of New Jersey on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. 
Amanda Banasiak won the 50 free and the 100 free and was part of the victorious 200 freestyle relay. DeeDee Maizes won the 200 free, was also part of the 200 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay.
