SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Friends and classmates of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School student Tyler Devaney have taken to Facebook and Twitter to express their grief over his death early Saturday morning.

The posts include links to a WABC-TV story reporting on a deadly car crash in Plainfield that occurred at 6:00 a.m. on Dec. 26.

WABC-TV and other outlets reported that two males died early Saturday after a silver Honda hit a tree and flipped over near the intersection of Emerson Ave. and East 2nd Street in Plainfield. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The other rider in the car was Eric Hagen of Berkeley Heights. Friends have set up a GoFundMe site to help his family pay for funeral expenses.
