SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood ice hockey team volunteered at the Mandy Reichman Feeding program at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield on Tuesday February 25.

Mandy Reichman was an Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School alum who succumbed to cancer in 2001. It was her wish that her parents develope a weekly outreach program that would provide food to the less fortunate. Every Tuesday at Temple Emanu-el in Westfield, volunteers participate in assembling a sack meal that consists of 3 sandwiches (bologna and cheese), apple and cookies. The food is then picked up by a food bank and delivered to people in need in Newark on Wednesday.

On a typical day the feeding program is able to provide 170 meals. A full season of binding on the ice made for great team work and comaraderie during this worthy endeavor.
