SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Every month will be Black Jack for the Class of 2021.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood PTA Senior Committee plans to deliver surprise gifts to each member (about 400 total) of the Senior Class on the 21st of every month from now until graduation. 

The seniors received their first gift this weekend past Sunday, Feb. 21st.  February's gifts were donated by the generosity of a senior parent and were delivered by members of the PTA Senior Committee along with various volunteers. The Class of 2021 also received the letter below.

Dear Seniors!

We are so excited for you and the entire CLASS OF 2021 to start your next chapter BUT FIRST….

We know there have been many CHALLENGES you have had to face, and this has not been the senior year you expected. So, as a way to celebrate YOU and YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS, the SPFHS PTA Senior Committee will be delivering gifts to you on the 21st of every month from now until graduation. These gifts are a small token to honor YOU and to show our support and recognition.

We hope you enjoyed the gift that was delivered to you yesterday by PTA Senior Committee members along with many volunteers. You have a community of family, friends, teachers, administrators and neighbors all rooting for YOU and who look forward to celebrating YOU!

These gifts have been made possible by the SPFHS PTA Senior Committee through fundraising with local businesses as well donations from caring friends, family and neighbors!

We hope that you enjoy your last four months of SENIOR YEAR and these thoughtful gifts! PLEASE KNOW we promise you that we will do EVERYTHING in our power to give you all an amazing, well deserved SENIOR YEAR!

"These gifts are being given to honor the students of the Class of 2021 and to show them the love and support coming from their family, friends and local community," said Johanna Tittanegro, one of the organizers of the effort. "The gifts are made possible through fundraising and donations through the support of family, friends, neighbors and local businesses in our community."

Soul Bowls in Scotch Plains and Fabio’s Pizza and Bistro in Fanwood have supported the fundraising efforts, and future events are planned with Darby Road, Savory Selections, and other local businesses. Additionally, the SPFHS PTA Senior Committee has organized "Sippin' for Our Seniors" on March 11.
