FANWOOD, NJ -- Mayor Colleen Mahr presented a proclamation to Fanwood children (left to right) Olivia Haley, Dante Castronuovo and Ian Weisholtz who raised $1,265 for the Valley Brook Village Community for homeless veterans by selling lemonade.

The second graders, who attend Brunner School, received a proclamation naming Sept. 17, 2018, in their honor along with a Key to the City.

A portion of the funds was spent by Fanwood and Scotch Plains businesses to benefit those vets, according to Steve Hackenberg, who grew up locally and spends much of his time raising money to help homeless vets.
