SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- More than 100 student delegates recommended by the faculty of Park Middle School, Terrill Middle School and St. Bart's Academy (grades 5-8), participated in the 2015 Leadership Training Conference (LTC) on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School.

This year's SPF LTC 100, themed Many Stars – One Universe, trained more than 129 Delegates. Sessions included Effective CommunicationSpeaking With Ease, and Elected to Lead Everyone.

"To date, over 700 delegates have gone through our leadership training program and spent the day learning lifelong leadership skills including public speaking, communication, and team-building," said organizer Phyllis Mirabella of the Educational Enrichment Foundation (EEF) of Scotch Plains Fanwood.

"With the help of more than 70 volunteers, and generous donations from the Garwood ShopRite and Nick's Pizza and Deli in Fanwood, we were able to put on yet another extremely successful program. We are looking forward to next year's program so that we can reach even more students."

The LTC 100 program relies on the help of Junior Counselors (student leaders from middle and high school who lead groups through activities) and Senior Counselors (high school and college students, and community volunteers who facilitate the sessions).

To those of us in Jewish education, it is a continuing source of disappointment that so many Jews still believe the kosher laws to be outdated.
