SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood PAL has launched its "Cops & Kids" Intramural Program for 5th to 8th graders.
"The idea is to get kids off their video gams and participate in some lightly competitive programs with their friends and the police officers who serve their community," said Scotch Plains Police Chief Ted Conley.
Conley adds that the PAL wants to reach out to kids of all abilities who just want to have some fun.
"The kids will get a little exercise (and their parents will get a couple of hours to catch up on some things). The success of this event will depend on turnout, so please encourage your kids to participate."
