BRIDGEWATER, NJ -- The Somerset Patriots hosted the Atlantic League's 2017 All-Star Game at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday evening. The festivities included autograph sessions with players, a parade of mascots, and the Atlantic League's Home Run Derby in which members of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood 10U Raiders caught fly balls in left field.

The Raiders also were able to sit in the dugout, meet Yankee great Willie Randolph, and greet the All-Star players as they ran onto the field. Yankee announcer John Sterling participated in the pre-game introductions. Sparky Lyle, the 1977 Cy Young Award winner and Manager Emeritus of the Somerset Patriots, was also on hand.

Ceremonial first pitches were thrown out by former Governor Christine Todd Whitman, John Gantner, president of RWJBarnabas Health, and Somerset County Freeholder Peter S. Palmer, Chair of the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority.
