SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Five candidates have registered with Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School Board elections in 2018.

The five candidates are competing for three contested three-year seats to represent Scotch Plains on the BOE. Current BOE members Debora J. Brody, Karen Kulikowski and Tonya Williams are up for reelection. Alfonse G. Akins and Sean Keagan Foley are first-time candidates.

There were no Fanwood seats up for election this fall.

Monday, July 30, was the deadline for candidates to file to run in November. The election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
