Scotch Plains-Fanwood Schools Mark Think Purple Week: March 13-17

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- This week, Scotch Plains-Fanwood schools celebrate Think Purple Week!, a districtwide campaign to help kids stay drug-free. This year's theme is "The Best Me is Drug Free" and  throughout the week there will be different activities that the students will participate in. Including:

  • Post your best "Drug-Free'"or "This Is What I Do Best" picture on Instagram for a chance to win a $25 Rita's gift card!
  • "Black Out Drugs" - Wear black on Tuesday.
  • "I'm Jean'ious Because I am Drug-Free" - Wear jeans to school on Wednesday.
  • "Stay in the game" - jersey day on Thursday 
An estimated 27 million Americans aged 12 or older currently use illicit drugs, and marijuana use continues to rise. It is every one of us responsibility to educate and remind our children of the negative consequences of drug and alcohol use.
