SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains Fanwood Soccer Association (SPFSA) will join the Elite Development Program (EDP) League for the 2017/18 season as a Member Club. EDP is widely regarded as one of the leading league structures in the country.
This membership is part of SPFSA’s ongoing commitment to making significant improvements on and off the soccer field. SPFSA will commit to the EDP league for 2017/18 with its high-level teams, and will continue to compete in the Mid-New Jersey Soccer Association (MNJSA) league where appropriate.
“We look forward to our partnership with EDP, as we highlight that the SPFSA is committed to providing Scotch Plains-Fanwood players the opportunity to play at high levels, while continuing to represent our rich history of soccer excellence," SPFSA’s Director of Coaching Andy Pearce said. "This is an exciting time for the club as we continue to invest in providing the best programing, training and experience for our players.”
The recent changes to the SPFSA House program and introduction of its Diamond Academy are proving that its developmental program is producing top-quality players. Joining EDP is further evidence of SPFSA’s commitment to investing in the best programs, coaching and opportunities for its players. With a history of state-leading teams, robust programming and premier coaching, Scotch Plains Fanwood Soccer Association aims to provide players at all levels with hands-on training, diverse camps and a competitive experience within an instructional and fun framework.
