SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ – The Scotch Plains-Fanwood varsity football team will open its season Thursday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m. at Gov. Livingston in Berkeley Heights.

The Raiders, in their second season under head coach Jon Stack, are coming off a 5-5 season. They play in the Mountain Division of the Mid State 38 Conference. The first home game will be Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. against Hillside.

Quarterback Emendo Thomas will direct the read-option offense, with returning starter Owen Monahan one of his top receivers.

Two-way lineman Rashan Gary, although only a sophomore, is considered one of the top linemen in the nation in his class, and has already received attention from some of the most prominent football universities in the nation.
