SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Saturday, Nov. 21, marks the last day for the 2015 Scotch Plains Farmers' Market at the Municipal Building parking lot on Park Ave. in downtown Scotch Plains.

"This has been a very successful year. We had new vendors who did well and are coming back next year. Vendors tell us their sales have grown," said Lisa Mohn, owner of Apple Blossom Florist and president for the Scotch Plains Business and Professional Association, which runs the Farmers' Market. "I want to thank everyone who supported us, and we look forward to bringing in more great vendors next year."

Since the spring, shoppers have enjoyed the products offered by local vendors and farmers. These include: JerseyFresh™ produce, baked goods, cheese, pickles, New Jersey wine, perogies, empanadas and more. Shoppers can purchase fresh food items this last Saturday before Thanksgiving.

"If you like the vendors, you can place orders with some of your favorites," Mohn added. "Be sure to get their cards or sign up for mailings when you see them this week."

Personally, I don’t think that we have any apologies to make for this phenomenon. Having suffered unbearably under successive oppressive regimes, many of those political activists genuinely thought communism would be better ...
