SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Saturday, May 16, is Opening Day for the 2015 Scotch Plains Farmers Marketplace.

Popular vendors include:

  • Ester's Treats (made with the highest quality organic ingredients)
  • Florence Ravioli
  • Gourmet Nuts & Dried Fruits, LLC

  • La Petite Temptation (French pastries)
  • Ort Farms
  • Patricia and Paul Fine Oils (olive oil, etc.)
  • Pickle Licious
  • Stella's Emapanadas (Spanish meat pies)
  • Tassot Apiaries (honey)
  • Villa Milagro Vineyards 

“This is one of the best and most popular open-air markets in the area,” said Jeffrey Stein, a member of the Scotch Plains Business and Professional Association, which runs the market. “We have our most popular vendors returning, along with a few new ones as well. It's going to be a great season, and we are so looking forward to our friends, family, neighbors, and even out of town visitors who come to Scotch Plains for our great market.”

The Scotch Plains Farmers Market begins this weekend and is open every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from May 16 through November.

"We are pleased to start again and thrilled with the new vendors coming in this year," said Lisa Mohn, who organizes the Scotch Plains Farmers Market. "Don't forget to shop at the local vendors as you take a stroll through our downtown."

Girls Basketball: Union Catholic Will Play In Game To Support Childhood Cancer

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Union Catholic varsity girls basketball team is honored to be playing in the Gold-Out game at Bernards High School for the third straight year, a game that will raise money and awareness for Childhood Cancer.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m, is called the “Gold-Out’’ game because gold is the awareness color for Childhood Cancer.
