SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Scotch Plains High School sophomores Maddie McNichol and Jamie Bush of Surgent's Elite Gymnastics in Westfield served as co-directors of the Surgent's Scholarship Fund and they raised over $1,000.

The Surgent's Scholarship Fund was created by Surgent's Elite Gymnastics to provide aid to children and teens with financial needs so they can choose to take part in gymnastics classes or join the gymnastics teams at Surgent's.

McNichol and Ms. Bush have served as co-directors for two years and this past year was their first year working together alone.

As part of their final fundraiser for the year, McNichol and Bush held a raffle for a free week at one of Surgent's summer camps and gymnastics classes. The two also held fundraisers like selling candy and teddy grams at their high school gymnastics meets and a fundraiser at a 5 Guys Hamburger restaurant in Westfield. The expense money for each fundraiser was donated by D.J. Surgent.
