ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -- Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith has been elected to the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors (NJCM) while filling one of four seats in Union County.

He was sworn in at the Legislators/Awards Reception during the NJCM Annual Conference on Thursday, April 27, at the Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City.

The New Jersey Conference of Mayors was founded in 1963 by a group of leading mayors who believed their collective voices should be heard in Trenton and Washington.
