SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Children of varying ages followed in the footsteps of their parents on Thursday as part of National Take Your Child to Work Day in Scotch Plains. The kids, who enjoyed the day off from school, received a first-hand experience what it was like to be a police officer, fire fighter and DPW worker.

Scotch Plains Police Chief Ted Conley and Parks & Recreation Director Matt Mercurio were among the many who brought their children to work.

Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work® encourages girls and boys across the country to dream without gender limitations and to think imaginatively about their family, work and community lives.
