Scotch Plains PBA Raises $5,700 in Children's Charity Golf Outing

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — The Scotch Plains Police, PBA Local #87, recently held its 31st Annual Children’s Charity Golf Outing and donated $5,700 of their proceeds to Camp Fatima in New Jersey.

Camp Fatima is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian organization designed for children and adults with developmental disabilities. The program is free to campers.

Camp Fatima is run completely by volunteers from the board, to the secretary, to the nurses and lifeguards, to the Directors, to the staff at the summer camp and weekend programs, everyone volunteers their time. Volunteers range in age from 16 to 60 and over. Each year over 300 volunteers give their time and talents to create the magic of Fatima known as “Fatimagic”.

Capt Conley presented Sgt Hernandez the donation for Camp Fatima. Sgt Hernandez, a LPN and EMT, has volunteered as a Staff Nurse in the Camp’s Infirmary for over five years.
