Scotch Plains and Fanwood teens are encouraged to participate in Beneath the Surface, the Scotch Plains Public Library’s teen summer library program from Monday, June 17 through Monday, September 9. Teens are invited to come to the Library and read for prizes as well as to take part in special events offered throughout the summer.

Special events this summer will include chess workshops, zine creation, a City of Ember book discussion and film screening, make-your-own geodes, art activities, parties, and more. A complete calendar can be found at the library's website, www.scotlib.org. Beginning June 17, teens in Grades 6-12 can register to attend these free events at the Reference desk or through the library's website. Teens will receive prizes for every 10 hours of reading, and will be entered into a special raffle after logging 50 hours of reading.

The Beneath the Surface teen summer library program is sponsored by the Friends of the Scotch Plains Public Library
