SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Scotch Plains special projects coordinator Margaret Heisey announced the township's upcoming special events for 2017 at the Scotch Plains Council meeting on Tuesday, March 8. Among the activities are:

  • Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m. (Rain date: April 9 at 1 p.m.)
  • Earth Day Celebration: Saturday, April 22 
  • Memorial Day Concert: Sunday, May 28
  • Memorial Day Parade: Monday, May 29
  • Car Show: Thursday, June 15
  • Race to Summer: Thursday, June 29
  • Independence Weekend Fireworks: Saturday, July 1 (Rain date: July 2)
  • Friday Movie Nights (5): Tentative Dates: July 14, 21, 28, Aug. 4, Aug. 11
  • Concerts Thursdays (4). July 6, 13, 20, 27 or July 13, 20, 27, Aug. 3
  • Scotch Plains Day: Sunday, Oct. 1
  • Health and Wellness Fair: Saturday, Oct. 7
  • Trunk or Treat: Saturday, Oct. 28
  • Tree Lighting: Sunday, Dec. 3
  • Mayor's Gala: Friday, Dec. 8
