SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Another winter storm is approaching our area bringing with it heavy wet snow, current predictions are for 8-11 inches and wind gusts around 35 MPH in our area. This storm appears to be similar to the Nor'easter that came on March 7th.

The Township of Scotch Plains advises residents to be prepared to remain sheltered if the need arises for 3-5 days. Be sure to gas up cars, generators and snowblowers, have fresh batteries in flashlights and non-perishable food supplies at home. If you take medication, make sure you have enough for the next 5 days. Please check on any elderly neighbors or neighbors who need assistance during this time.

The Department of Public Works will have some crews out continuing branch pick-up today and it will continue after storm cleanup is completed. Please make every effort to move branches off the street. Additionally, if you have a basketball hoop in the street, please remove it.
