SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Township of Scotch Plains has issued an alert regarding an impeding Nor’Easterstorm heading to the area. 

A Nor’Easter will begin to impact our area Wednesday around Noon. Predicted rainfall will be in the 1.5-2.0 inches and will be heavy at times, which will lead to areas of flash flooding potentially during the evening rush hour, according to Scotch Plains Township's Facebook post. Winds will pick up later this evening through Thursday with winds 20-30 mph and gusts up to possibly 50 mph.

If you have put leaves out at the curb, please leave an opening to allow water to flow. If you are driving and see water in the roadway, turn around, don’t drown.
