SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- A memorial to remember and honor the lives lost to COVID-19 in cities and towns across the country will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. The Washington, D.C. ceremony will feature a lighting around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
The Scotch Plains Municipal Building will be lit in amber on Tuesday evening, Jan. 19, as the township shows solidarity in the fight against COVID-19 and remembers those who have died from the disease.
"This Inauguration-Eve, it's especially meaningful to spend some time reflecting on so many lives lost to COVID-19," Mayor Losardo said. "May their memory give us purpose and may we come together as a Country and work more closely together toward the common good."
Residents are invited to join in this memorial by lighting a candle in their window.
