Seeking Clarifications from Candidate Checchio

To  the Editor:

After watching the recent Scotch Plains council debates and reading Five Questions with…Rose Checchio, I am requesting clarification from Rose Checchio regarding the claims in her statements.

My questions are as follows:

1.       Can the candidate clarify her educational background from the Cittone Institute; including how many years of education she has and what certification she holds?

2.       Can the candidate provide “Director Certification” evidence?  I made a call to the New Jersey Department of Licensing. The department does not list Mrs. Checchio as director of her daycare centers, but rather lists her sister as director.  Can I be provided further clarification her statement that she is the “Director?”

3.       Can the candidate provide court stenographer evidence, as the NJ Licensing Board online does not show her to have a license?

4.       Can the candidate provide clarification as to her stated enrollment numbers that exceed 450 children?  According to the State of New Jersey, her Metuchen and Edison locations maximum child capacity is 340 children.  Can she provide clarification of her claim to have greater than 450 children enrolled (maybe part-time plus full-time status is the discrepancy)?

I appreciate the opportunity to have a forum for my questions and thank you for your time.

The Missing Moses

A seemingly dubious distinction belongs to this week’s Parshah, Tetzaveh (Exodus 27:20–30:10). It is the only reading in the Torah — from the first Parshah of the book of Exodus (in which he is born) until the end of the book of Numbers — where the name of Moses is not mentioned. Tetzaveh’s opening words are V’atah ...
