SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Is your teen vaping and juuling? If yes, do you know the dangers of E-cigarettes?
A seminar will take place at Scotch Plains-Fanwood Hight School auditorium on Tuesday, May 1, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on this teenage trend. Your teen may not realize that E-cigarettes are considered tobacco products because most of them contain nicotine, which comes from tobacco, and that each juuling pod is equal to 200 cigarette puffs!
According to a report by NPR, last year, 1 out of every 3 high school seniors used a vape or e-cigarette, and 1 out of 6 high school seniors used a vape in the last month. Roughly 10 percent of high school seniors reported intentionally vaping nicotine.
Juul-issued flavor "pods" can deliver more than double the nicotine (and the buzz) of other vaping products. Further, teens also are using E-cigarettes to vape cannabis oil., too.
This event is funded by the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA) through the UCDHS Division of Planning, along with the Board of Education, Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School PTA and the two police departments.
