SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Brigitte and Reese Priel and Gia Milano are focusing on reading for their 7th grade service learning project, which is part of the social studies curriculum at Terrill Middle School.

The girls have undertaken a multi-step project centered around books. They are raising money to buy new books, collecting slightly used books, and donating them to various organizations.

First, they organized a bake sale at Nick's Pizza last Sunday to raise money. The group will now use this donations to buy books and pajamas for Pajama Program, an organization that provides new pajamas and new books to children in need.
