SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Snack’ons, a new gourmet snack food company based in Scotch Plains, held an exclusive launch party on May 28th at Shackamaxon Country Club to celebrate the product's introduction into the local marketplace

“By using artisanal bread, natural ingredients and exciting new flavors, the traditional crouton has been reinvented into a crunchy, tasty gourmet snack that can be eaten on the go,” said founder Eric Martin.

“Ever since I was a kid, I wondered if it was strange that I would just eat croutons as a snack out of the box. As I started to do some market research, I learned that there are many people across the nation that have “confessed” to eating croutons as a snack. Snack’ons answers this void in the marketplace by providing a snack-size, all-natural gourmet twist to the big box commercial croutons.”

Flavors include Chipotle BBQ, Cinnamon Sugar and Parmesan Garlic. Snack’ons are available locally at Tom the Green Grocer, 2305 South Ave., Scotch Plains, and Be Craftful in Fanwood. A portion of Snack’ons' sales of benefit SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education), which helps send children in need to summer camp. The Missing Moses

A seemingly dubious distinction belongs to this week’s Parshah, Tetzaveh (Exodus 27:20–30:10). It is the only reading in the Torah — from the first Parshah of the book of Exodus (in which he is born) until the end of the book of Numbers — where the name of Moses is not mentioned. Tetzaveh’s opening words are V’atah ...
