SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Laura Iden Gibbons, one of the greatest soccer players in Union Catholic history, will be inducted into the Union Catholic Hall of Fame on Sept. 30.

Iden, who graduated from UC in 1997, concluded her high school career with an astounding school record total of 89 goals, and her clutch play-making and relentless determination led Union Catholic to some of its greatest seasons ever.

Laura led the school to its second Union County title and first ever state sectional crown – and helped the Vikings reach the first state title championship game for the first time in school history. As a senior, she was named Union County Girls Soccer Player of the Year by The Star-Ledger, and earned All-State and All-American honors.
