SPF 9U Blue Baseball Beats Westfield, Falls to Green Brook in Playoffs

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - The Scotch Plains-Fanwood 9U travel baseball team reached the second round of the New Providence Green League playoffs this week with a victory over Westfield before losing to Green Brook in the second round on Wednesday night at Booth Field.

After a 5-7 regular season, the Raiders defeated Westfield in the opening round of the playoffs, 17-2, on Tuesday. Green Brook scored four runs in the sixth inning on Wednesday to put the finishing touches on a 10-3 triumph over the Raiders the next night.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood defeated Millburn twice, Montclair, South Orange and Westfield/Black during the course of the NPGL regular season.
