SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – The Scotch Plains Fanwood High School will be hosting the 16th Annual Jazz Festival on Friday, April 5th at 5:15 pm and it will continue until 10 pm.
The Festival features guest bands from New Jersey high schools including Westfield, J.P. Stevens, Bridgewater-Raritan and others. Also featured in the evening’s line up are 3 jazz band ensembles from the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School: Jazz Lab, SPF Jazz and the Moonglowers.
Amy Davies and Grace Cheney are co chairs of the Music Boosters, a collection of parents and residents who support the various music programs at SPF Schools. “This particular evening will really show the talent and the energy that the students put into programs like this. It really will be a fun evening and people from the community get to hear our bands and we get to hear other bands – it’s a wonderful way to get familiar with Jazz music,” said Davies.
Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens and there will also be food available for purchase. All proceeds will go to support the Jazz Program of the SPF High School Music Department.
The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School is located at 667 Westfield Road in Scotch Plains. More information is available on the Music Boosters website at http://www.spfk12.org/domain/66.
