BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Fanwood eighth-grade PAL A football team is heading back to the Super Bowl.

The A team, comprised of players from both communities, defeated Richmond Boro of Staten Island, 22-12, on Sunday in the semifinals of the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League playoffs at chilly Foley Field in Bloomfield.

The Raiders, who won the Super Bowl as fifth-graders on the D level in 2011, will meet Summit in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Nov. 23 at Perth Amboy. Summit, which has won the last two Super Bowl titles, beat Sayre Woods South in the other semifinal played in Old Bridge.

The SPF A team struck fast against Richmond when Jonathan Ramos scored on the first play of the game, sprinting 65 yards to a touchdown. Alex Oslislo also took off on a 65-yard TD later in the first period and he also scored on a 41-yard run in the second quarter. All of the game's scoring came in the first half. Charlie Fugett hit two PAT kicks.

The victory raised the A team's record to 9-0-1 for the season.
