SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School girls soccer team followed in the footsteps of the boys, who yesterday advanced to the state sectional finals. The girls defeated a tough Westfield team, 1-0, at Wexler Field on Tuesday on an overtime goal by Tori Baliatico.  Sophie Brause had the assist, and Andrea Leitner made five saves in goal for Scotch Plains-Fanwood.

Baliatico dribbled through the Westfield defenders and booted the ball into the goal less than three minutes into the overtime period. It was the third time this season that a match between SPFHS and Westfield ended 1-0 with the Raiders emerging victorious. They also played to a scoreless tie on October 9.  In all four contests against Scotch Plains-Fanwood, the Blue Devils were held scoreless.

The undefeated SPFHS girls team now boasts a record of 20-0-2.  Westfield ends its season 12-5-2.

Now the question is, was G‑d really homeless? ...

Valentine’s Day can be a wonderful time if ...
