NORTH EDISON, NJ -- The Scotch Plains 10U Cobras softball team placed 2nd at Parkway Invitational National East Championship game Tuesday night in North Edison in a nail biter.
Sairah Llano pitched a gem letting up only 1 run in 6 innings of play on a controversial catcher’s interference call. he was backed up by a strong defense consisting of Julia Freidrichs, Angelina Valente, Carolina Conklin, Morgan Stagaard and Sam Friscia.
The Cobras had hits by Hannah Baik, Morgan Barbosa and Olivia DiSalvo and were aggressive on the offensive side. Emeryson Teicher, Sophia Zambrio Meredith Reilly contributed to help the Cobras tie up the game 1-1 which extended the game into extra innings.
North Edison came up with the win at the end of the 7th inning after pushing through 2 runs. The Cobras finished their season with a 10-4 record.
