SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The fourth Nor'easter in the past three weeks hit Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Wednesday afternoon with less severity than many meteorologists predicted during the day, but snows are expected to continue until Thursday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, overnight snow could be heavy at times with temperatures remaining around 32 and wind gusts as high as 26 mph. A total nighttime accumulation of 3 to 5 inches is possible.
Schools in the SPFK12 district will have 90-minute delay openings. The Township of Scotch Plains will open for business at 10:00 a.m.
"We were prepared, and I am glad it was it not as bad as it could have been," said Scotch Plains Township Manager Al Mirabella. "I'm ready for spring weather."
