On Monday, July 16 at 7pm, Prudence Jones, professor at Montclair University, will present Springsteen and his Layered Lyrics as part of the Scotch Plains Public Library’s Libraries Rock summer reading program.

As generations of fans have been impacted by his music, Bruce Springsteen was influenced by the American folk tradition, which he then reinterpreted to create new sounds and messages. Participants will learn about some of the works that have influenced one of Jersey’s most celebrated musical artists.

This program is funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
