St. Bart's Festival in Scotch Plains Marks the Passage of Another Summer

Rides, music, raffles, and plenty of food will begin Friday at the annual St. Bart's Festival (Westfield Ave.) in Scotch Plains.

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Labor Day Weekend provides one last hurrah for summer along with one of the most anticipated events on the local calendar: the annual St. Bart's Festival.

Held this year from Friday, Sept. 1, to Monday, Sept. 4, the Labor Day Italian Feast is hosted by the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Chapter of UNICO, St. Bartholomew's Church, and St. Bartholomew's Academy. The festival has been an annual tradition honoring San Nicola di Bari, the patron saint of the town of Montazzoli, Italy, since 1974.

A great family event, the festival has something for everyone to enjoy. There is nightly live music, rides, games, a beer garden, and great food, including favorites like pizza, pasta, clams, mussels, calzones, and zeppoles. In addition, there are nightly 50/50 drawings and a super 50/50 raffle on Monday. The 2017 entertainment  schedule on the Stage House Stage includes:

Friday, Sept. 1 (4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.)
Listen to the Classic Acoustic/Electric Musicsounds of Wolf Creek (Showtime 7:00 p.m.)

Saturday, Sept. 2 (4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.)
Mass in Italian - at 5 p.m.
Immediately after Mass, Procession honoring San Nicola di Bari and St. Bartholomew led by 
Metropolitan Festival Band. Then listen to Diamond Reno perform A Neil Diamond Tribute (Showtime: 7:45 p.m.)

Sunday, Sept. 3 (4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.)
Stop by and listen to the Rock sounds of The Broadcasters (Showtime: 7:00 p.m.)

Monday, Sept. 4 (2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
Wrap up the weekend by listening to the New Orleans Jazz & Funk sounds of  The VooDudes (Showtime: 5:15 p.m.)
Super 50/50 Drawing - 8:00 p.m.
