Swimming: FSPY Girls White Team Wins Final Dual Meet of Season


LIVINGSTON, NJ -- The Fanwood-Scotch Plains (FSPY) Girls White team won their last dual meet of the season on Saturday, topping the West Essex YMCA 198-133 at WEY’s Livingston facility.

Individual medley events (IM)
Anna Linenberg won the 11-12 200 IM, while Faith Best clinched first place in the 13-14 200 IM. Aubrey Bagdonas won the 15-18 200 IM race.

Freestyle events
FSPY’s 8/unders kicked off the freestyle events with a sweep of the 50 freestyle when Jamie Trela, Sophia Francesca Isleta and Sophia Monteith finished first, second and third. Brooke Labarge won the 9-10 100 freestyle. Avery Higinbotham and Jessica Rojek placed second and third in the 11-12 100 freestyle, while Aislinn Mooney and Hannah Davis won the 13-14 200 freestyle and 15-18 200 freestyle events, respectively.

Breaststroke events
Phoebe Kaplan and Sophia Yalcin placed second and third in the 9-10 50 breaststroke, and Katelyn Gaulin, Alex Moore and Jessica Rojek finished 1, 2, and 3 in the 11-12 50 breaststroke. Aislinn Mooney won the 13-14 100 breaststroke.

Backstroke events
Kate LaBarge won the 9-10 50 backstroke while Alex Moore and Sarah Phillips won first and second in the 11-12 50 backstroke. Julia Yick, Hope Best and Amaya Wilkerson swept the 13-14 100 backstroke. Aubrey Bagdonas, Maya Grantz and Isha Rai finished 1, 2, and 3 in the 15-18 100 back.

Butterfly events
Amy Jiang placed second in the 8/under 25 butterfly, and Brooke Labarge also placed second in the 9-10 50 fly. Anna Linenberg won the 11-12 50 butterfly, and Emma Route finished first in the 13-14 100 butterfly.
