Temple Sholom of Scotch Plains Will Host Annual Comedy Night on Sat, Feb. 25

Scotch Plains, NJ Temple Sholom of Scotch Plains will host its annual Night of Comedy on Saturday, Feb. 25. The event is open to the public and will feature nationally known stand-up comedian Steve Marshall, who has appeared on numerous shows on NBC,CBS and the Food Network. 

Marshall will entertain the crowd with stories from his childhood growing up in Brooklyn and his life observing the behavior of ethnic people and society's hypocrisy. His high energy, physical and intelligent humor culminates with a life message of telling the audience not to behave the way others want you to behave. Just be yourself. 

Marshall performs over 300 times a year headlining Dangerfield's in NYC and national venues like The Boca Black Box in Florida and The Laugh Factory in Reno. He will share the stage with local comedian and Temple member Alex Bernstein and other talented nationally recognized and local comedians.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the show begins at 8:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served and babysitting by the Temple’s Confirmation Class is available for a nominal fee. Tickets are $36 in advance and $40 at the door. For questions or to purchase tickets call the Temple office at 908.889.4900 or go to www.sholomnj.org. Advance ticket sales are open until Feb. 24.

Founded in 1913, Temple Sholom is a Reform Jewish congregation led by Rabbi Joel N. Abraham and Cantor Darcie Sharlein. The temple and its religious school are home to more than 250 families from the greater Scotch Plains-Fanwood area and surrounding communities. The congregation is in a new home at 1925 Lake Ave. in Scotch Plains.Temple Sholom is a member of the Union for Reform Judaism.
